It's been a while!

Well I was meant to write on the weekend, but I have been extremely tired lately. I do have an excuse however...I'm pregnant!! We've known for a while now, but waited until we had a date to tell everyone. The baby will be here in November. We actually have the same due date as my cousin Amanda, so that's kind of cool.
So far everything is fine. I've had a couple of days where I feel like I'm going to throw up, but it eventually passes and I feel OK again. This week I've been feeling really tired. I basically come home from work, eat and go to bed. I have class tonight so I'm probably going to be like a zombie by the time I get home. I've got my fingers crossed that I don't get too sick.
John and I had Friday off for ANZAC Day and we had a great day. We went to Bondi and they had a lunch on there. Once we got there we were told that there was actually a service held so I was a little bummed that I didn't know about that. There were some Aussie sailors there, so it almost felt like home. John fell in love with Thooey's New and took up the challenge in drinking for the both of us. I got to have some pavlova so I had no complaints at all!!
We took some photos, but I still haven't downloaded them, so I'll have to do that when I write some more on the weekend....till then!!

So another week done with and nothing too exciting happened. I've had a lot of school work due, so that has been keeping me busy and I'm back to work too! We had Dakota over this weekend and it was a good visit. She got to do a lot of stuff with John as I was busy with school, so I'm sure she was happy with her Daddy time!
This Thursday we have my Biometrics interview for my immigration. I'm hoping that with John dressed in uniform we'll get through a lot faster. Once that is done then I just have to wait for my card. I'm hoping we get it back soon as I need it for my drivers license renewal. My license expires on the 16th of May, so I'll be very sad if I have to do all the testing again!
John and I both have Friday off for ANZAC Day so I'm looking forward to that. It's pretty much the only Aussie day off that I ask for, and it's one of the ones that makes me homesick too! I miss the huge day I normally have in Darwin. Anyway we are going to head down to Bondi, and hopefully they have something on. I hope all you Aussies enjoy your day whatever it is you do!
I still haven't seen any blogs from you guys...it really isn't that time consuming, so hurry up and make one!! Once John is gone I'm going to need a lot of distractions and what better way to pass the time then reading every ones blogs!!

The End of a Relaxing Week!

My rain stick and my half completed box!!

Unfortunately our little break has come to an end and we're back to work tomorrow. I've had a nice, relaxing time although I wish I had another week as one week just doesn't seem to be long enough. After Disneyland the rest of our week went by kind of fast. I had a lot of school work to do and we had some other running around to do.
My school work bought out the creative side to John and I as I had to make a musical instrument and a box to place some books in for my language class. For my musical instrument I made a rain stick and called on John to help out. I had found a mailing tube at work so we had to go find some nails that would fit, then John helped me out by drilling holes through the cardboard. After that we filled the tube with beans and wrapped it with tape. I added some circles for creative effect! All that work, and I showed it for about a minute! As for the box we are half way through that. We covered it today with paper and now I have to make some copies of pictures to put on it. My books are all by Eric Carle so I'll show you the end product when I'm done! It has to be done by Wednesday.
This weekend has been a hot one here! Thank goodness for air conditioning because I don't do well in this dry heat! Today we went out for a little while and I couldn't wait to get home. The thermometer in the car read 93 degrees at one stage (which is around 31 for you Aussies!) and now I'm wondering how I ever lived in Darwin!! Tomorrow is meant to be a lot cooler, so I'll be happy with that.
Today we went out for lunch to an English pub called Shakespeare's Bar and Grill. The actual bar looked a lot like the English pubs I've seen on Eastenders and it had quite a few Poms there. The plan was for fish and chips, but when I saw that they served Shepard's pie I just had to have it!! It was fantastic! John still had fish and chips and had to have his peas in a separate dish...don't tell him I told you that! He also had some kind of beer where they mixed Guinness and another beer which he said was nice too. Situated on the other side of the place is this little English store and bakery which we just had to check out. It was full of overpriced treasures of foods I miss! They even make their own sausage rolls there! I had to buy one...and it was fantastic! I also bought some pickled onions and a peppermint Aero bar. They wanted almost $9 US for Vegemite, so I decided I didn't need that enough to pay that amount! I will definitely be heading back there sooner or later.

Disneyland!

The Princesses and Pluto in this pic, then Mickey and Minnie from the parade!

The Lion King float from the parade!

Well we got back from Disneyland yesterday and again we had a fantastic time!! That place never seems to get old. We spent Monday and Tuesday there and stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, which is the oldest of the three hotels there, but beautiful just the same. The hotel has three separate towers all surrounding a beautiful pool area which has a Peter Pan theme. There is the pool and a restaurant and also a bar area. In the pool they have a pirate ship and the crocodile. It's really cute. Just outside of our tower were these beautiful waterfalls that I forgot to get photos of.
This time around we went on a lot of the rides that are more for the kids. Inside of fantasyland are all these rides that tell the story of some of the Disney movies...there is an Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Snow White and Wind in the Willows. The only one that I had been on before was the Snow White one. My favourite was Peter Pan. You went into a ship and you flew over the bedroom, London and through Neverland. It was great. We also went on one call Storybook Land, which is a boat ride through all these miniature lands such as Aladdin, Cinderella's village, and Prince Eric's castle just to name a few. It was a cute ride that I sure every kid would love. We also really enjoyed the Buzz Lightyear ride and Soaring over California. The Soaring ride is like being in the air and flying over all sorts of attractions that California has to offer. It is really cool, and one of the rides I can go on without feeling sick!!
John of course went on all the wild rides he loves so much and I can't stomach!! We were able to fast pass a few of them so he got to go on them twice in a row! After trying the roller coaster last time and almost throwing up John knows not to try to get me to go on any of those types of rides.
Now that I'm home it's back to the study. I've got quite a bit of work due in the next couple of weeks so the extra time off is really going to come in handy. The weather is absolutely beautiful at the moment, so hopefully the rest of my time off will not be all study. I would like to get out and enjoy some of the sunshine.
